Cullinan Surface Mine Tour
Walk the surface operations of the working Cullinan diamond mine on a guided tour of one and a half to two hours, taking in the shaft, the open pit and a display of rough diamonds and replicas.

Why it is worth the trip
Cullinan is the source of the stones in the British Crown Jewels and of most of the world's notable blue diamonds, so it ties a specific kimberlite pipe to specific finished gems.
Before you go
The operator states that underground tours have been suspended indefinitely and that surface tours run seven days a week at 10h00 and 12h00. Children under 10 are not allowed to enter the mine, closed shoes are compulsory, all visitors must complete an indemnity form and send identity documents in advance, everyone entering the mine must pass a breathalyser test, and visitors aged 65 and over must be examined by the mine doctor or sister first.
