How we verify dealers

Admission is not a listing fee. Every verified dealer has passed the same four stages and remains subject to them. Sourced records that have not completed the stages are always marked Listed, with status shown separately.

01

Application & screening

Dealers apply or are invited. We screen the business first: website, trade presence, stone focus and years in operation. Most applications end here.

02

Documents assayed

Company registration, trade references and certification practice are checked document by document. Lab reports are checked against the issuing laboratory's public report-check service where one is offered.

03

Live inspection under the loupe

For Live-verified standing, a recorded video call: stones on the table, inspected under the loupe, treatments discussed and disclosed. The recording is kept on file.

04

Struck & standing

A GV Score is issued and the dealer enters the catalogue. Standing is re-assayed yearly; a breach of disclosure or conduct means suspension, not negotiation.

We verify dealers — their legitimacy, their certification practice, their disclosure discipline. We do not certify stones; that is the work of independent laboratories, and no listing here implies a per-stone guarantee.

Questions, answered

Does verification guarantee every stone a dealer sells?

No. We verify the dealer — legitimacy, certification practice and disclosure. Individual stones are certified by independent laboratories, whose reports can be checked directly.

What is the difference between Verified and Live-verified?

Verified dealers have passed document checks. Live-verified dealers have additionally completed a recorded video inspection, with stones examined under the loupe.

How often are dealers re-checked?

Every verified dealer is re-assayed yearly. A lapsed document, an undisclosed treatment or a conduct breach triggers review and, where warranted, suspension.
