Why it is worth the trip

It is built around cutting and engraving rather than around famous stones, so it is the clearest museum account of what a lapidary actually changes about a gem.

Before you go

The museum states it has been assessed and recognised for accessibility, and that registration is required for groups. It runs age-appropriate trails and workshops for children and hosts children's birthday parties.
