Kimberley is where the modern diamond trade and its structures of control were formed, so it explains as much about how diamonds are sold as about how they are found.
Before you go
The site states that bookings are only required for groups of 20 or more, that tours start at 09h00 and run hourly with the last at 16h00, and that visitors should allow 10 minutes before the tour to buy a ticket on site. The facility is described as wheelchair friendly with qualified first aid staff on duty; no firearms or pets are allowed and access to the Old Town is free at all times.
